Many of the credit solution companies can work fairly quickly to resolve credit issues that need to be negotiated down or removed due to reporting error. The fees vary. Most Mortgage people can do this sort of negotiating for the clients. We have a person who works wonders for people when it comes to these issues. If there is proper documentation.
I have even settled old debt of my own from when I was in my 20's and broke and stupid. I had Capitol One settle my debt for 25 cents on the dollar. I was extatic. Through some talking and time of my own I was able to reduce and pay off debt for a fraction of what was owed and increase my score over 1 year by 120 points.
The customers can do it themselves with the right guidance, however outside "pro's" can get it done quicker than the consumer.
